Twelve Republican members of Delaware’s House of Representatives on Tuesday called on Gov. John Carney to promptly end all pandemic-related restrictions, saying clear evidence shows that the omicron variant wave crested in Delaware last month. “Nearly two years after we jointly began this ordeal, we have enough reliable information to chart a path forward,” the legislators stated in a letter to the governor. “We respectfully ask you to objectively assess our situation and urge you to promptly end all pandemic-related restrictions, return all state workers to their normal places of employment, and restore normality for all Delaware citizens.”

- I implore you to visit any nursing home or hospital. The choice you will have if you have to be in one is life and death — not all COVID, but the COVID clog is hampering routine care. It’s absurd to just live in your own circle and believe that it’s all good to live and let live. The leading cause of death among health care workers and police in 2021 was COVID. We honor the fallen of wars. Wearing a mask may not be your first choice, but there is honor to it. It’s how people look at it. — Debbie Dickerson
