Mayor Robin R. Christiansen recently explained his position on the controversy about paying command staff officers to work at the Firefly Music Festival. He also vowed to clear up any confusion on how extra-duty pay is distributed by working with city officials and elected council members. While Mayor Christiansen said he received notification from human resources director Naomi Poole on Sept. 28 of potential federal labor law violations, providing public safety has been his primary aim.
