A rodeo took place at Dover Elks Lodge 1903 on Thursday, but no bucking horses or bulls were spotted. Rather, it was a bicycle safety talk and giveaway that the Elks put on, in partnership with the city’s Parks & Recreation staff and the Delaware Department of Transportation. Attendees included 82 local kids ages 6-12.
“They’re learning about bicycle safety, how to wear their helmets properly, and, going through the obstacle course, they’re learning some basic bicycle control,” said Robin Eaton, director of Dover’s Parks & Rec. “They’re having fun, and there’s a lot to do. We’ve got some games going on, as well.”
