Speak Up: Delay on Mispillion bridge

Posted

Repair work on the Mispillion River drawbridge in Milford has resulted in another delay in its reopening. Certain gears and shafts are no longer in alignment and will need to be machined to fit. The goal is to have the bridge operational by July. Damaged when struck by a truck towing an excavator in 2021, repairs led to additional issues with the nearly century-old structure. How have you and others been affected by the long-term closure?

  • They should just replace it. — John Clayville
  • Not affected at all. Very easy to get around the bridge. Maybe a few blocks’ detour. It needs to be fixed properly, no matter how long it takes. — Denise Sloboda Deskiewicz
