Speak Up: Delaware governor delivers his final State of the State address

Gov. John Carney reflected on the accomplishments of his administration, while emphasizing his final priorities as Delaware’s chief executive during the last State of the State address of his tenure March 5.
I question the increase in crime in Delaware. Very concerned about safety and feeling unsafe. Law enforcement does their jobs, courts give lenient sentences, and I think it’s because it costs too much to keep repeat and violent offenders locked up. So, we have lotteries for all types of reasons — why not one to help operate jails/prisons? — Joan Czeizinger-Sherrard
Spending tons of money they don’t have and taking away rights, and what has it gotten us? Low-quality education, unconstitutional laws and violent criminals released instead of being held behind bars. — Jonathan Contant
