T.J. Yadav was outside his shop when he felt glass hit him in the face. A crash happened at the intersection of Milford-Harrington Highway and Deep Grass Lane/Killens Pond Road, said Mr. Yadav, owner of Summit Auto, which sits at the corner of the two roads in Harrington. The speed limit for both is 50 mph. The intersection currently has stop signs for vehicles heading north and south — but not for those whipping by east or west. The Delaware Department of Transportation has noticed. There were 43 crashes at the intersection between 2016-21, said spokesman C.R. McLeod, citing a department analysis.
- Hopefully, this won’t end up causing more accidents because Milford-Harrington traffic misses the stop sign and T-bones a vehicle crossing on Deep Grass Lane/Killens Pond. — Lezlie Eustis
- Hopefully, this is the answer. If it needs more, put up a traffic light. Human lives are more important than the five minutes you have to stop. — Gerry Oliver
- Stop signs, people run them all the time. Trim those trees more, so people can see. — Donna Lynn
- Roundabouts are becoming all the rage. — Bob Hice
- It needs to be a red light. They don’t stop for the signs now. What makes them think they will stop for four instead of two? — Paula A. Wetherall Wilson
- Should also put a flashing red light on 14. People still run the stop sign on Harrington-Frederica road. — Ray Zelano
- What took so long Next, look at Little Mastens Corner Road and Hopkins Cemetery Road. Loads of accidents here! — Howard Gaines III
- This “solution” is ridiculous. East-west traffic in the summer will be absolutely heinous. — Matt Hickman
- There will just be even more accidents because the cars heading north and south will never get across. Especially with all the beach traffic coming that way, they won’t care about a four-way stop. A big traffic light would be better, but they’re not gonna like it. They’ll run it because it’s such a busy road. — June Hall
