Speak Up: Christmas trees cost 15% more this season

Posted

Christmas is the season of giving, but just like everything else in 2022, those celebrating with a nicely decorated tree will be doling out more for it this year. While supply chain disruptions are not expected to be nearly as bad as the COVID-19-plagued holiday last year, individuals can expect to pay up to 15% more for a live or artificial Christmas tree, according to the American Christmas Tree Association.

  • The real issue has little to do with production costs and more to do with the availability of sizeable replacement trees. Additionally, it takes 10-15 years after the tree has been planted to get a return on the investment. In that amount of time, you have too much rain, too little rain, critters like deer damaging or eating young trees and natural diseases for each type of tree. Delmarva German Shepherd Dog Club
