Posted

Three 15-year-old males were arrested recently in connection with a stolen vehicle, part of a string of similar incidents in the east and west parts of the city, Dover police said. The teens were detained after a stolen 2017 Hyundai Sonata they were traveling in crashed into a parked vehicle in the Cannon Mills neighborhood, Sgt. Mark Hoffman said. They fled on foot but were apprehended without incident.

Dover police, Capital School District teaming up to make schools safer

Feeling the need to possibly “polish some things up” regarding security at the 13 schools in the Capital School District, Dover Police Chief Thomas Johnson was all set to contact its leaders in the wake of the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting May 24. However, Dr. Vilicia Cade, Capital’s superintendent, called him first. During a school security report at Dover City Council’s Committee of the Whole meeting June 28, Chief Johnson said it was “a telepathic moment.”
