A Delaware legislator has announced a plan to introduce two bills to change Delaware’s Constitution and Code, create reason-free absentee voting and allow the General Assembly to enact laws related to absentee voting. The proposals would also require that laws enacted by state lawmakers be approved by a two-thirds vote, rather than a simple majority. Do you support these ideas? How could a two-thirds-majority vote requirement affect lawmaking?
- No — I do not support open voting. This opens too many options for illegal votes! Election Day is always the same, and there is no reason that citizens cannot (in most cases) go to the polls to vote with ID in hand! For the servicemen and -women and the few who really cannot get there in person, it should be well documented and done in a way to ensure the correct vote is counted. Stop the crazy voting whenever and however someone feels like it. We need to be sure our voting is secure and that all votes are legal and counted! — Mary Casper
