It’s sad to read that our senior citizens have to worry about where their next meal will come from and that they have to resort to eating one meal a day.
I like the idea of free lunches for all kids at all schools. But I wonder if we can expand on that idea. Why can’t we keep the cafeteria open after the kids are done, to feed our senior citizens? Funding should be provided to pay for the food and the employees needed to accomplish this. The schools are open anyway. Lights are already on.
If we are going to talk about food deserts, imagine having at least one meal a day available just a short distance away. In some cases, it could be only a short walk away. America cannot let its people go hungry. We can find a way.
