SEAFORD — TidalHealth Nanticoke announces Chelester Serant, CST, of the Clinical Decision Unit has been selected as its Sunshine Award recipient for May 2024.

Ms. Serant was nominated not once, but four times for this award. Her nominations, below, were written by patients who recognized her for her care and special attention:

"She kept me motivated each day she worked, helped me without hesitation, and really showed how much she cared that I learned about my health. She wanted to see me do better and become a better person and take my health seriously. She changed my outlook on life and my health and reminded me that I still have a long life to live. I will never forget her. It is nice to see good people exist.”

“I wanted to let you know how grateful I am to have had you while I was in the hospital. Being in the hospital can be a scary time. You seemed to be one of the most considerate I encountered. You made me feel confident that I was in good hands. It was good to know I would be taken care of when I had needs. You never made me feel like a burden. You have a great big heart for the work and people you help. Thank you!”

“She was very busy at the time, she wasn’t my nurse and I saw her walking by. I needed some water, and she stopped what she was doing and got my water. That was very nice.”

“She performed her duties professionally. She was very thorough and treated me with much respect and was a joy to talk to.”

Ms. Serant was honored in a ceremony before her coworkers and presented with fresh flowers, a pin and a certificate recognizing her exceptional devotion to team and patient care.
