I’m writing in reply to George Roof’s Opinion (“Gun debate should recall founders’ purpose”). Amen, brother. An inanimate object isn’t the problem. There is little respect for life since God was taken out of the public arena. So, like you wrote, if a gun isn’t available, any blunt or sharp object, or vehicle, will do.
The USA used to be the “melting pot” of the world. Not anymore. Immigrants haven’t been assimilating for decades. Just look at Miami, with its two-language street signs. Now, thanks to the Biden administration, we have all these immigrants, who bring their culture and their flags with them. They even elect their America-hating peers to Congress! I watched Zohran Mamdani take the oath of office twice — once from Letitia James, then from Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. — then lie, saying, “So, help me, God,” with his hand on the Quran. We shall see how well that turns out.
