In the realm of politics, transparency and integrity are essential qualities that we, as voters, should seek in our leaders. In my opinion, Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long exemplifies these qualities, and it is with unwavering support and confidence that I endorse her for the position of governor.
Recent baseless attacks on Lt. Gov. Hall-Long’s campaign finances have attempted to tarnish her reputation and discredit her ethics. However, the truth is clear — there has been no fraud, no abuse and no misuse of campaign funds. Lt. Gov. Hall-Long and her family have gone above and beyond in their commitment to transparency, voluntarily reporting and reconciling legitimate expenses, while forgiving outstanding loans to the campaign.
As a nurse, Lt. Gov. Hall-Long has a proven track record of identifying issues, taking action and working toward solutions for the betterment of our community. Her dedication to improving health care, advocating for universal child care, creating job opportunities and ensuring affordable housing demonstrates her unwavering commitment to making Delaware the best place to live, work and raise a family.
Further, Lt. Gov. Hall-Long’s leadership in engaging with various community groups and organizations, including faith leaders, Black leaders, Latino leaders, arts leaders and LGBTQ+ advocates, showcases her inclusive and collaborative approach to governance.
It is unfortunate that biased press coverage has overshadowed Lt. Gov. Hall-Long’s accomplishments and contributions to Delaware. Despite facing challenges and unfounded accusations, she has remained steadfast in her commitment to serving the people of our state with integrity and dedication.
In light of recent investigations and scrutiny, it is important to note that both the attorney general and the commissioner of elections have confirmed that there are no legal actions against Lt. Gov. Hall-Long. This affirmation underscores her commitment to compliance and accountability in her campaign activities.
As we look toward the future of Delaware, I believe that Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long is the leader who will champion progress, equality and prosperity for all. Her experience as a career educator, her dedication to public service and her unwavering commitment to transparency make her the ideal candidate to lead our state forward.
