Delaware Department of Justice announced felony charges against individuals alleged to have made straw purchases of guns for people prohibited from possessing one. Nine defendants face at least 76 felonies for the purchase of at least 12 firearms in six transactions. Dover Police Chief Thomas Johnson pointed out when an illegal purchase is made, “you will become an accessory to the harm that follows.” What more should be done to prevent straw purchases?
