New Smyrna water tower a ‘necessity’

Structure should be complete by end of year

There’s ample need for the 133-foot-tall, $5 million water tower under construction north of Smyrna.

Jacob Mitchell, the superintendent of Smyrna Public Works, said Wednesday that projected residential and commercial growth in the area requires it.
