Editor’s note: After reviewing election-related Opinion submissions, the Delaware State News found that two letters had been received but overlooked for publication prior to the seven-day preelection pause on endorsement and candidate letters. One is published below.
D.J. Cox is a candidate running for the Kent County Recorder of Deeds Office. He was born and raised in Kent County and taught by his parents at an early age the value of helping others, which he does exceptionally well. D.J. is a proud and dedicated husband of a Kent County schoolteacher, the father of two beautiful children and works diligently to provide for his family.
He is involved in clubs and charitable organizations, where he thrives in helping others to make a difference in his community. He supports local senior centers and the Food Bank of Delaware. D.J. has been endorsed by several people and organizations, including current Kent County Recorder of Deeds Betty Lou McKenna; Sen. Trey Paradee, D-Dover; and the AFL-CIO and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees unions.
D.J. is a proven leader with great communication skills, which will enable him to bring fresh, new ideas to implement to this office, as well as provide an outstanding working environment to his fellow employees.
Please join me in voting for D.J. Cox, the best candidate for the Kent County recorder of deeds, on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022. You will be so glad you did! Let’s go, D.J.!
