Letter to the Editor: Why don’t we hear more about cancer prevention?

Posted

Dr. Matthew J. Burday’s commentary keeps us up-to-date on new and innovative cancer detection (“Still more to do when it comes to cancer mortality,” Nov. 27).

As for myself, for the last 40 years or so, the huge thorn in my side is, why do I not read much more about cancer prevention? We all know why. Fast-food restaurants have very powerful beef, poultry, pork and dairy lobbyists, and money talks in Washington.

And that is why we don’t see much more about cancer prevention!
