I enjoyed reading the article on Delaware's latest attacks on the 2nd Amendment (“Delaware bill to ban untraceable guns awaits Carney’s signature,” 6-15).
As usual, the rationale for more oppressive gun control laws is based on occurrences outside of the state of Delaware, with examples cited in states all over the country, but none in Delaware. If our local law enforcement concentrated their efforts on Wilmington and Dover, how much of a problem would remain? My guess, from reading our local newspapers, is that Delaware would become a model state.
Is the agenda public safety, or closure of gun shops and eventual total disarmament of the population — except, of course, for the criminals? Hard as it is to believe, seems to me that most criminals don't shop in gun shops, pay full price or submit to background checks. But we already know that, don't we?
