Opinion: What is going on at the US Department of Justice?

Posted

I read FBI form FD-1023 that was recently released concerning the allegations against Hunter Biden and then-Vice President Joe Biden. I have not heard anything from the Department of Justice saying this was investigated and found to be untrue.

I am disgusted that the Justice Department and the FBI apparently have had this information for years and just ignored it. After the James Comey fiasco with the Hillary Clinton server/improperly stored classified documents investigation before the 2016 elections, I can understand where the DOJ would be hesitant to get involved investigating a politician running for president before an election. I can honestly say it is probably better they didn’t, since it would have given the appearance that the Department of Justice under former President Donald Trump was being used to go after a political opponent. What I cannot forgive is how or why the department apparently did not investigate this issue after the election to determine if it is true or not.

If it is not true, it puts a cloud over our current sitting president, which is unfair to him. If it is true, it means our current president is corrupt and compromised. Congress only found out about this through a whistleblower and had to subpoena the FBI to get the document released. I encourage everyone to read the form and draw their own conclusions.

I truly hope Sens. Chris Coons and Tom Carper and Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, all D-Del., demand the Department of Justice do a thorough investigation to determine whether these allegations are true or not. There is a time to put politics aside and do what is best for the country. The American people have a right to know.
