My letter is in response to the letter of Rep. Kevin Hensley, R-Townsend (“No better time to restore senior property tax credit,” March 16).
Rep. Hensley, I support whatever relief you can give to seniors. I believe a bigger issue than raising the amount of tax relief is the inclusion of all Delaware senior citizens in property tax relief. The current 10-year waiting period required for new senior residents is ridiculous. The law is basically saying if you are a 65-year-old new resident, we will never have to give you tax relief, as you will be dead before you are eligible.
Dear Delaware legislators and governor, please delete the waiting period for all seniors!
