Direct support professionals work every day with dedication and compassion to provide care and support services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. People with these disabilities depend on such staff to help them live their best lives as included and valued members of Delaware’s workforce and communities.
Direct Support Professional Recognition Week (Sept. 11-17, 2022) is our opportunity to shine a spotlight on the vital work these employees do for the First State’s intellectual/developmental disabilities community, for its businesses and workforce, and for diversity and inclusion that recognizes the importance of the neurodivergent.
Today and every day, we thank all direct support professionals in Delaware who do the important work to support this community.
