With the COVID-19 death toll in this country now around 611,000, it has become time to mandate vaccines for the entire country.
No, folks, that would not be infringing on your personal rights. It is for the protection of the public’s health and has been done for years.
During the Revolutionary War, George Washington mandated smallpox vaccinations for his troops. Beginning in 1827 in Boston, vaccinations began to be required in school. Today, all 50 states require vaccines for children to enter school.
We were required in the ’50s to get the polio vaccine. My classmates and I received four shots.
Military personnel today are required to get specific shots. You are required to have certain vaccines to travel out of the country.
Precedent has already been set on this issue by the Supreme Court: in 1922, in Zucht v. King; in 1987, in Maricopa County Health Department v. Harmon; and in 1944, in Prince v. Massachusetts. The court ruled that this can be done for protection of the public health.
People who are “anti-vaxxers” care nothing about their neighbors, relatives or the welfare of this country. You are contributing to the deaths of thousands of people.
