Letter to the Editor: Pro-abortion arguments make ‘absolutely no sense’

Posted

This letter is in response to a letter from a Democratic candidate for the Delaware House (“Overturning Roe ‘not about abortions,’” May 24). Your letter makes absolutely no sense, nor do the arguments of most Democratic legislators or hopefuls. The farce that overturning Roe would take away the “right” of women to have control over their bodies is the only mantra the left has. Women have always had the right to exercise control over their own bodies.

In 2022, we all know where babies come from and how they get there. If a knowledgeable and responsible woman exercises control over her body, then there will not be a baby. However, when the women’s sexual revolution, fueled by the National Organization for Women and Planned Parenthood, gave women the permission and the encouragement to jump into bed anytime without concern for the consequences, they needed to invent the “right” to have control over their bodies to get rid of the evidence of their irresponsible indiscretions.

It is totally inconceivable to me that the Democratic Party often refers to abortion services provided by Planned Parenthood as “health care.” Then, you go on to tout the “progress” made in Delaware, referring to the ability of Planned Parenthood to abort thousands of innocent babies in the womb for enormous profits. I believe your stance wouldn’t be so firm if Planned Parenthood stopped pouring thousands of dollars into Democratic Party candidates’ coffers.

You say you advocate for women. Maybe you should listen to the stories of women who have been scarred for life and regret their abortions. Planned Parenthood doesn’t care about women; they care only about profits, as Abby Johnson, who was once an abortion clinic director, explains in her book, “Unplanned: The Dramatic True Story of a Former Planned Parenthood Leader’s Eye-Opening Journey Across the Life Line.” It’s not about religion. It’s not about health care. It’s not about rights. It is about recognizing the humanity of the child in the womb that everyone ignores. It is about realizing that Planned Parenthood reaps enormous profits from the murder of innocent human beings, and that it pours its ill-gotten gains into the coffers of politicians and candidates every year.

I will never vote for anyone in either party whose moral compass allows them to forget that they were once a baby in the womb but that someone loved them enough to give them the life they now enjoy.
