Here, here to the Sussex County board of the League of Women Voters (“Sussex LWV supports Seaford lawsuit,” Jan. 24). They hit the nail on the head when they wrote, “It is disturbing that people who ordinarily oppose government intrusion into their lives would support an ordinance which does exactly that.”
Make no mistake: This proposal that would require “dignified” disposal by burial or cremation of fetal remains from abortions performed within city limits IS government intrusion. It IS one group of men imposing their own set of moral beliefs on all of the women in the area they “control.” It IS judgmental interference in the lives of other people.
Perhaps the politicians who are elected to serve the people in this state need to realize that they serve ALL the people and not just the ones who agree with their own beliefs. Just saying … no one would argue the fact that an egg isn’t a chicken until it’s hatched.
