Letter to the Editor: Kent recorder of deeds backs Cox to replace her

Posted

It has been my honor and pleasure to serve as your Kent County recorder of deeds. I have seen a lot of changes within the county, and I have led a great staff. When my term is up at the end of 2022, I will have served 20 years in that position. I have decided to retire and let someone who is younger with new bright ideas run for that office.

I have known D.J. Cox for a very long time. He is an honest man, with integrity and a desire to serve his community. He is married to a schoolteacher, Tiffanie, and they have two children, Callie, 5, and Spencer, 2.

D.J. has been called to serve before; after graduating from Delaware Technical Community College in Dover, he was hired to be a police officer. But while training at the police academy, he had a major medical problem that would not allow him to become a police officer. He currently drives a tractor-trailer for a local propane company.

D.J. understands the everyday issues that families face on a daily basis. If D.J. is elected, I know that he will work with the community, never asking for party affiliation or walk of life. D.J. has always wanted to serve in the office that I have spent so many years in, trying to make it better. I ask and encourage you to vote for D.J. Cox to be the next recorder of deeds for Kent County.
