It’s going to be easier and cheaper to grow the clean-energy economy, thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act. The legislation also helps with prescription drug prices, which Medicare will finally be able to start negotiating. The legislation reduces the deficit over the 2022-31 period.
I am most excited about how it will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with a focus on also putting U.S. manufacturing front and center in technology leadership and clean-energy jobs.
It was a near thing, 50-50 in the Senate following an all-night voting session and with Vice President Kamala Harris casting the tie-breaking vote. Congratulations and thanks to Sens. Tom Carper and Chris Coons, both D-Del., and their staffs, who tirelessly worked to negotiate and deliver this win for our clean-energy future!
