Letter to the Editor: GA should approve Inspector General law for real accountability

Posted

As a citizen of Delaware, I believe we need a statewide Office of the Inspector General to fight waste, fraud, abuse, mismanagement and corruption in state government.

There always seems to be an article in the newspapers, online or on TV talking about a problem with an agency not doing its job, some kind of corruption happening in a state office, claims of questionable government contracts or real estate transactions and the like. And now that there’s a real chance for creating an Office of the Inspector General through House Bill 405, it’s stalled in the General Assembly. Why? What’s going on?

The General Assembly needs to pass the law, so Delawareans get some real accountability for how its government works!
