Why do Americans pay the highest prescription drug prices in the world? This question really needs to be addressed, answered and resolved!
We pay more than three times what people in other countries pay for the same medicines, and seniors are the most affected. Many have spent the better part of their lives protecting and serving, as members of the military, health care providers and first responders.
I know many seniors are on fixed incomes and can’t afford these excessive prices. It’s not right that seniors should have to choose between paying for medicines and paying for food or rent. It’s time for our elected officials to take action and solve this problem. AARP recently published a report showing that 87% of those surveyed supported allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices. This is how other countries do it, and we should do it, too.
I respectfully suggest and strongly urge our elected officials to act now to make sure seniors can afford our medicines.
Medicines are not helpful if we seniors can’t afford them.
