I want to acknowledge Dover City Councilman Fred Neil for his quick response time with handling a matter for residents in a mobile home park community which is serviced by the city but not a part of the city.
Residents in this park had multiple concerns in this mobile home park. Safety was one of their major concerns. The electrical panels that serviced several units were not up to code.
Councilman Neil called on Ms. Lois at city of Dover Electric, and the city sent people out and confirmed residents’ concerns. The residents were in fear of retaliation from the park’s owner, but now they don’t have to worry about retaliation because the damage was visible from the outside. The park owner will now be forced to fix the electrical equipment properly.
State legislation for the mobile home parks is horrific for the homeowners living in some of these parks and definitely needs to be changed.
I commend the city for the actions taken to combat this ongoing problem for those parks within the city limits.
Councilman Neil, thank you for going beyond your call of duty, sir!
