The angry scolding the president gave America last week was both unnecessary and offensive. It is indeed about freedom and personal choice. And medical decisions should be made after consultation between a patient and their doctor, not by politicians.
Like much the federal government does, the proposed actions regarding vaccination are overbroad and too rigid. The directives do not account for those who have “natural immunity,” nor do they take into consideration those whose doctors have recommended against vaccinating or who have religious exemption (allowed for in other health requirements).
The president seems to be personally offended by those who do not do as he says, regardless of the reason. That is not a good quality in a leader.
