I’m disappointed that my representative, Speaker Pete Schwartzkopf, D-Rehoboth Beach, voted against legalizing marijuana. This vote shows how out of touch he has become.
Does Speaker Schwartzkopf understand his constituency at all? Public opinion polls show 2 in 3 Americans support legalization for medicinal and recreational use. Neighboring states seem to understand this, and they are reaping the benefit with additional revenues. Why should Delaware lose out?
It’s a sad day when your own representative will not vote for what makes sense for the people of Delaware. So who is the speaker really representing?
