I am happy to write in support of Brandy Walker, a candidate in the Tuesday special election for Dover City Council’s 1st District seat. As a former state senator representing greater Dover and as a resident of the 1st District, I encourage all eligible voters to vote for Ms. Walker, a respected professional with a deep commitment to our city and a positive vision for our future.
Brandy Walker is a product of our local institutions of higher education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Delaware State University and a Master of Science in clinical health counseling from Wilmington University. Her active clinical practice here in Dover keeps her poignantly aware of the most serious problems we face, especially downtown.
Brandy is running for city council so she can be directly involved in the process of improving our city, in finding solutions for the despair of homelessness and in addressing the threatening increase in crime and gang activity. She is concerned about our local businesses, many of which were already facing challenges before the pandemic and who now find themselves in difficult straits.
To be sure, Brandy is a positive thinker who appreciates and respects this beautiful city we all call home. She will combine that positive attitude with her professional skill, ability and desire to be a key element in finding solutions to the problems that hold Dover back from being all that we can be.
I encourage your support for Brandy Walker. Vote for Brandy on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Elks Lodge on Saulsbury Road.
