Delaware, wake up! We, like New Jersey, Massachusetts and other states, are being conned by big, mostly European capitalists who want guaranteed high returns on low-value, high-carbon dioxide windmills in the water.
The Hoover Institution, among others, documents that ocean windmills require so much concrete, steel, etc., to manufacture, install and operate that they produce more carbon dioxide, etc., than they claim to save over their usable lives. And they require adding onshore gas-fired plants for when the wind does not blow. They also take/block 30 times the surface area of a comparable nuclear electric plant. And they require seven times the amount of scarce materials, such as copper, compared to gas or nuclear plants for the same megawatts; these, in turn, add more carbon dioxide from the mining of those scarce materials.
What they are guaranteed to do very “effectively” is massively raise our energy costs, drive out employers and raise our taxes. (And they kill whales, hurt commercial fishing, devalue our beaches and the tourism economy, degrade our national defense due to radar conflicts, etc.)
Wake up and say no.
