Dave Graham of Smyrna was a candidate in the 2000 Republican primary for governor of Delaware. In 2014, he was the Independent Party of Delaware candidate for state attorney general in the general election.
After 32 years of Democratic administration, since 1992, Delaware desperately needs a political house cleaning.
If concerned Delaware residents want to break free of Democratic, one-party rule and move forward, leadership at the top must change.
Our greatest hope is to elect Republican Mike Ramone, a state representative from Newark, as our next governor. He is qualified to boldly lead our state in this 21st century.
None of our citizens should be pleased with Delaware’s failing public school systems, our out-of-control state budget or our ever-increasing taxes in the foreseeable future.
Does anyone truly believe that continuing to elect Democratic governors will change the current trajectory of our failing state government?
A closer examination of Republican Mike Ramone’s résumé is certainly warranted to confirm the likelihood of his success after he’s elected the new governor of Delaware.
Mr. Ramone did not easily obtain electoral success to gain his seat in the House of Representatives. After his fourth campaign in the 21st Representative District, Ramone was finally elected in 2008.
As a legislator in Dover for over 10 years, Ramone’s experience has sharpened his political skill set, making him the perfect candidate to govern successfully.
He served most recently as the Republican minority leader in the House of Representatives, acquiring the ability to work across party lines and get things done.
During his tenure, Republican Ramone has developed a reputation as a hardworking public servant, determined to solve problems and ensure our Delaware government serves all citizens.
Not all quality-of-life issues affecting Delawareans are adequately addressed by our legislators, but that has not stopped Rep. Ramone from pursuing a solution.
Here is one issue that he tackled, in December 2017. As the Republican member of a bipartisan contingent headed by then-Sen. Bruce Ennis, a Democrat from Smyrna, Mr. Ramone traveled to the Hartford, Connecticut, open Family Court, rated as one of the best open domestic relations court in the United States.
I personally witnessed, as Ramone keenly observed the various open courtrooms, taking a great many notes about how a Family Court is properly managed to quickly, courteously and competently resolve the issues before it.
If we elect Republican Mike Ramone our new governor, he could possibly lead another contingent to Connecticut, this time with the chief judges of Delaware’s Supreme Court, Superior Court and Family Court.
These judges may possibly witness for themselves how the closed, less-than-adequate Family Court of Delaware should be reformed to properly serve its citizens as a constitutional court.
This is just one example, among many, of the leadership qualities required of a governor.
Voters may rest assured when casting their ballot for Mike Ramone — he will work diligently to serve all Delaware citizens to the best of his proven abilities.
A vote for Republican Mike Ramone is a vote for long-overdue change in leadership and the delivery of a brighter future for our state in the remaining balance of the 21st century.
Your vote for the Republican this year will seat a proven and competent public servant in Delaware’s governor’s chair.
