The General Federation of Women’s Clubs Delaware was honored June 20 with Senate Concurrent Resolution 84, declaring Sept. 30 as “GFWC Delaware Step Up to End Hunger Day of Service.” After the group’s president, Trish Rodriguez, spoke on the floor of the Senate about the initiative, the Senate and the House of Representatives unanimously approved the resolution, sponsored by Sen. Dave Lawson and Rep. Ruth Briggs King. The federation will partner with the Food Bank of Delaware, The Salvation Army, veterans organizations, Code Purple, churches, food pantries and shelters, and invites other organizations to join.
