As usual, Jim Martin presents both a “heart” and “head” perspective on this issue (“Another idea for opioid settlment funding"). His insights are not purely academic conjecture; he can walk the walk, as well as talk the talk. The amazing staff/volunteers at The Shepherd’s Office step into the breech daily. Against all odds, they persevere to help and provide for one more, then one more struggling, overwhelmed soul.
But he is correct that it is just one among many ministries trying to provide. A much larger, centralized and medically oriented facility is necessary. If the proposed facility can utilize dedicated resources to provide health and hope, I concur that it would be life-changing for many in desperate need.
God bless you, Brother James!
