Downstate Delaware Genealogical Society to hold free classes

DOVER — The Downstate Delaware Genealogical Society will hold free genealogy classes each Thursday in August at 10:30 a.m. at the Dover Public Library, 35 E. Loockerman Plaza.

Open to the public, the one-hour sessions will be taught by Deborah Ruggles. Topics include how to begin family research, organizing your information, locating records through free and paid sites, and finding ancestors through the U.S. census, city directories and vital records, as well as utilizing military and immigration documentation.

There will be no class Aug. 17.
