Cole: Officers don’t need to have take-home cars

Posted

No! I do not believe that officers of any department should take home the state taxpayers’ vehicles (“Officers and vehicles stick together”).

They have to go to their station to report in, so they can pick up the vehicles there. I have seen police cars from the city of Dover parked at a residence in Harrington. If anything happens on the way to work, they are already in uniform and have their credentials, so they are covered.

Stop wasting taxpayers’ money on use and maintenance when not needed!
