CenDel Foundation announces grants supporting Kent County arts

Posted

The CenDel Foundation has distributed $21,000 in grants to organizations fostering the arts in central Delaware.

The Kent County Fund for the Arts, administered by CenDel, awarded 13 organizations in June. The grant amounts ranged from $500 to $2,500.

The recipients included Art Works for All, the Biggs Museum of American Art, the Cancer Support Community, the Delaware Choral Society, the Delaware Friends of Folk, the Delaware Institute for the Arts in Education, Delaware Shakespeare, the First State Ballet Theatre, Forward Journey, the Inner City Cultural League, the Mispillion Art League, The Children’s Theatre and the Dover Art League.

The funding will be used to offer diverse performances, provide art therapy and enrich arts education in the Kent County area.

Recipients attended an awards luncheon June 28 at the CenDel Foundation, where they discussed their programs and upcoming projects.

The Kent County Fund for the Arts was established in 2008 via a contribution by the late Rosemary Twilley, in memory of her husband, Joshua Twilley. Ms. Twilley’s son, Joshua Twilley, now serves as the fund’s adviser.
