CAMP Rehoboth awarded $300,000 grant

Posted

REHOBOTH BEACH — In July, the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center was awarded a $300,000 grant from the state.

The monies are part of the General Assembly’s allocation of the bond bill’s Community Reinvestment Fund, a capital grant program for local and community-based nonprofits.

It will allow CAMP Rehoboth to invest in high-priority repairs to expand accessibility, boost safety, increase sustainability and improve efficiencies, with resulting savings.

Additionally, the award will enhance the space used for the delivery of CAMP Rehoboth services and include several other renovations to preserve the integrity of the property.

CAMP Rehoboth strives to build safe, inclusive communities with room for all and where all gender identities and sexual orientations are respected.

Its CAMPus consists of two properties on Baltimore Avenue: One houses the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center and its offices, and another is primarily a rental property consisting of CAMP Rehoboth’s health suite and five units that provide income for the agency.

Projected renovations include the installation of solar panels, automatic doors, a lift and a high-grade security system. Further, several repairs will be allocated to the CAMPus, like new kitchens and bathrooms, and improved siding and awnings.

The schedule of repairs is being developed, and work will begin soon on this construction. For information, visit camprehoboth.com and its social media pages.
