An open letter to Delawareans:
I’m not sure where to start, but in brief, the state of the union is a shambles! About 10 million-12 million souls have crossed into this union in the last three-plus years. If we had vetted them in any manner, I wouldn’t be as concerned as I am today. Just letting anyone in who can muster the money to pay for illegal passage is a risk, certainly. We don’t keep track of where they are, just a court date some years down the road. Does this seem safe? I’m not implying most have bad intentions, but even if only 0.002% do, that’s 24,000. What has been done is unsafe, illegal, underhanded and wrong.
The United States of America owes $34,468,788,834, as of the writing of this letter (source: Peter G. Peterson Foundation), and it’s climbing every second, literally! Are you, as a citizen of the USA, OK with that? I’m not! It’s a disgrace. Who’s going to repay this debt? We are, with increased taxes disguised as new fees for the privilege of letting a Congress spend, spend, spend! Disgusting.
Then, there’s the issue that just can’t seem to be resolved by reason: abortion. Yes, I’m going there. My body, my choice — OK, except with COVID-19, that “right” went out to lunch. Is what Dr. Kermit Gosnell did in Philadelphia for decades OK? I think not; hopefully, you agree. So, should there be legal abortions? In rare circumstances, yes. As a birth control method, no. There are many forms of birth control available to virtually anyone who wants it. The choice is not to be made after pregnancy but before intimacy.
What’s a nation to do with this sad state? Not an easy question. However, a place to start is not with new restrictions or laws but rather with personal responsibility, each of us starting today! How else can we move forward? For all of our government agencies, transparency and personal responsibility is a must. Freedom is what made this the greatest country in the world! Let freedom ring and vote accordingly. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, do us all a favor and stay home.
