PRINCESS ANNE — The nation’s top mascot, Harry T. Hawk wants you to attend his event, “The Harry’s.” And he expects you’ll be there in full feathered frenzy, supporting his fellow Hawks.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s (UMES) annual awards extravaganza that caps off another great year in Hawk Athletics will be held April 28, 2015, at the Student Services Center Theater starting at 6 p.m.  The awards ceremony follows an Academy Awards type format with a red carpet reception followed by an awards presentation at 7 p.m.

This year, for the first time, UMES is opening the event to the public to attend. Ticket prices are just 25.00 which allows you access to the appetizers at 6 p.m., a chance to take photos on the red carpet with Harry T. Hawk, reserved seating in the theater and a special UMES Athletics gift.

“This chance to support Hawk Athletics shouldn’t be missed,” said Director of Athletics Keith Davidson. “It is great because you get to see, firsthand, all the hard work of our student-athletes. We not only recognize the accomplishments on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community.”

Supporters of UMES who can’t attend the Harry’s but want to make a contribution to honor student-athlete’s accomplishments can also do so by calling or mailing in a donation made payable to the UMES Foundation, noting the Eastern Shore Varsity Club Fund.

This is an activity of the UMES Foundation. Funds received will be managed by the University System of Maryland Foundation Inc. to benefit the E.S. Varsity Club Fund.
