Somerset Teen Volunteer's team 'Forever Norma Mae" taking part in Alzheimer's Walk

Posted

SALISBURY — When the Alzheimer’s Walk steps off this Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Salisbury City Park 12 of the participants under the team name “Forever Norma Mae” and be led by Miss Somerset County Teen Volunteer Trinity Sterling in honor of her great-grandmother Norma Mae Sterling of Crisfield who courageously battled Alzheimer’s disease for 13 years.

Trinity’s team is part of her broader initiative, S.E.R.V.E. — Remember Me Always, which aims to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, support the work of the Alzheimer’s Association, and educate the public about the realities of the disease.

Through this effort, she hopes to dispel common myths, foster compassion, and remind the world that memories matter.
“Alzheimer’s doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed, it touches entire families,” Trinity said. “This walk is a way to honor my great-grandmother’s memory and to support the incredible work being done by the Alzheimer’s Association.”

Trinity, the daughter of Dionna Sterling and a senior at Salisbury Christian School, plans to attend Johns Hopkins University to major in film production and aspires to become a film director. She hopes to use storytelling as a powerful tool to advocate for causes close to her heart, including Alzheimer’s awareness.

The team invites the community to support their walk, which starts at 10 a.m., and donate to the Alzheimer’s Association to join the movement to create a world without Alzheimer’s.
