CRISFIELD — Groundbreaking for the future home of Living Hope Ministries of the Eastern Shore will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the 7.3 acre property on Crisfield Marion Road and Holland Crossing Road.

The independent Charismatic/Pentecostal organization was founded in August 2010 by the Rev. LaBron Palmer with early meetings at the Marion Fire Hall and Crisfield High School. Since the fall 2010 the church has been leasing the former J.P. Tawes & Bro. Hardware building on West Main and 11th streets.

Somerset County in August approved the site plan for the church pending final sticking points to include stormwater management and erosion/sediment control plans. The 7,000 sq. ft. sanctuary is designed to hold 299 parishioners, and will include offices and Sunday School classrooms. David Evans Sr. is the building committee chair.
