WHCP Radio celebrates sign-on with July 4th block party
City Commissioners Gage Thomas and Robert Hanson, Police Chief Daniel Dvorak, Mayor Victoria Jackson-Stanley, WHCP General Manager Mike Starling, and Senator Addie Eckardt, at the WHCP sign-on block party.WHCP Community Radio in Cambridge celebrated its sign-on day July 4, with a block party on Poplar Street in downtown Cambridge. The party featured street games for the kids, tours of the station’s studio space, “101.5 free hot dogs,” three bands and two singer-songwriters and a fun time for the community.
Congratulations and proclamations were delivered by the Cambridge city council, the state senate and the U.S. Senate. WHCP radio is now on the air and broadcasting music, weather and news, and local interest programming at 101.5 FM.
