CAMBRIDGE — Over the last 10 years, Pleasant Day Medical Adult Day Care has been loaning two, sometimes three wheelchair buses to the National Outdoor Foundation to use for the annual Outdoor Show held at the South Dorchester School. Attendees must park almost ¼ mile from the school and walk on a two lane turtle back road without shoulders and a ditch. For safety reasons the Pleasant Day buses are used to shuttle people to and from the show to their vehicles. Anyone who has attended the Outdoor Show understands how essential the shuttles are to the success of the show. This year was no different and two buses were loaned to Buddy Oberender, who provided proofs of driver qualifications and insurance to protect Pleasant Day’s interest. The buses were returned clean, filled with gas and with a donation to support Pleasant Day’s participants. While we do not loan out a vehicle often, we are pleased that Pleasant Day helped make the 70th Outdoor show a success.
