Special to The Dorchester Banner/Dave Ryan Cambridge-South Dorchester High School players and coaches got together following the 2014 8th Annual Eastern Bowl Senior All-Star Football Game in Vikings Stadium on Saturday. The 11 Vikings on the North team were Terry Wilson, Jabreon Perry, Fred Jones, James Smith, Trevor North, Kenny Romain, Brett Harris, Trey Johnson, Devin Dorsey, James Maddox and Brandon White.

CAMBRIDGE — Young men from the north and south of the Bayside Conference celebrated the conclusion of their high school careers on Saturday at the 2014 8th Annual Eastern Shore Bowl Senior All-Star Football Game.

The North — comprised of top players from Kent Island, Queen Anne, Kent County, North Caroline, Colonel Richardson, Easton and Cambridge-South Dorchester — won the game 28-6. But it was smiles all around after the friendly contest, with the young men simply enjoying being on the field one last time.

Eleven players from C-SD made the North squad. They were Terry Wilson, Jabreon Perry, Fred Jones, James Smith, Trevor North, Kenny Romain, Brett Harris, Trey Johnson, Devin Dorsey, James Maddox and Brandon White.

The South featured players from Stephen Decatur, Snow Hill, Washington, Wicomico, James M. Bennett and Parkside.

Scoring started with about two minutes left in the first quarter, when North quarterback Jaelon Moaney of Easton scrambled into the end zone after a fake handoff. He followed that with a run around left end at the 7:12 mark of the second quarter, to make it 14-0 at the break.

Tailback Nelson Brown of Wicomico bulled his way into the end zone midway through the third period. The score remained 14-6 after a failed extra point attempt.

Then with 7:02 left in the fourth quarter, running back L.J. Flornoy of Easton charged up the gut on first and goal from the 7-yard line, broke tackles and scored.

With only 20 seconds left in the contest, offensive lineman Michael McCaslin of Kent Island got was given the chance to put points on the board, and he did, charging over the goal line on second and goal from the 1-yard line.

At midfield after the game, Most Valuable Player awards were presented.

For the South, the Defensive MVP was linebacker Melvin Morris of Wicomico. The Offensive MVP was WiHi’s tailback Nelson Brown.

For the North, the Defensive MVP was defensive lineman Zach Woelke of Kent Island. The Offensive MVP was Easton quarterback Jaelon Moaney.
