New officers elected to lead Dorchester County School Board

CAMBRIDGE - Following the recent resignations of Dorchester County School Board president Mike Diaz and vice president Susan Morgan, new officers were elected to fill the vacant positions.

At the outset of a special meeting called for Thursday, July 11, at the School Board Headquarters on Glasgow Street in Cambridge, the remaining three board members, Chris Wheedleton, Talibah Chikwendu and Sheri Hubbard, took a vote using pieces of paper and a straw basket.

New Superintendent Dr. Jymil Thomas counted the votes and announced three votes each for new school board president Hubbard and three votes for vice president Chikwendu.
