CAMBRIDGE – Keasha Haythe, economic development director for the Dorchester County Economic Development Department, has been awarded recertification by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) effective July 1, 2014.

Keasha first achieved the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation in 2008. CEcD recertification, required every three years, was awarded to Keasha who met demanding requirements for continuing education and service to the profession. With 12 years of economic development experience, Keasha has developed a track record of initiating sound policies and innovative strategies to foster economic growth. Partnering with private and public stakeholders, she has championed education, entrepreneurism and expansion of existing businesses as key economic drivers in the county.

The designation of Certified Economic Developer is a highly recognized national recognition that denotes a mastery of principal skills in economic development, professional attainment and a commitment to professional growth. Keasha first earned certification by passing a rigorous three-part, two-day examination, testing her knowledge, proficiency and judgment in the key areas of economic development
