DORCHESTER — Two Dorchester County Public Schools students had artwork chosen to be displayed in the Fall Student Art Exhibition at the House of Delegates Gallery in Annapolis.

Grace Kriss, a senior at North Dorchester High School was recognized for her watercolor “Silent Autumn” and Malcolm Pierce, a 4th grader at Maple Elementary School was recognized for a watercolor and marker work, “Primary Person.”

The two students were invited to the Dec. 4 opening reception of the exhibition, which is presented by the First Lady’s Art Gallery. Malcolm was unable to attend but Grace had the opportunity to meet Yumi Hogan, First Lady of Maryland, and discuss her piece. Mrs. Hogan is an accomplished artist and an adjunct professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

The Fall Student Art Exhibition showcases artwork from student artists from across the state of Maryland. Grace’s art teacher at North Dorchester High School is Jennifer Kolendowicz; Malcolm’s art teacher is Nancy Hebb at Maple Elementary.
